Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Class Athlete (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our youth sports registration platform (the “Service”). Because the Service is used to register children, protecting the information of minors is especially important to us.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — the name, email address, password, and home address of the adult (parent, guardian, or other authorized adult) who creates the account.
• Participant information — for each participant you add, including children, this may include name, date of birth, gender, and registration details. This information is provided by the adult account holder, not collected directly from children.
• Registration and program data — the programs you register for, role (participant, coach, volunteer, official), questionnaire responses, and registration status.
• Payment information — payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We receive confirmation and limited transaction details; we do not store full payment card numbers.
• Usage and device information — basic technical information such as log data needed to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use information

• To create and manage your account and process registrations;
• To process payments and provide receipts;
• To communicate with you about your account, registrations, and important notices;
• To check program eligibility and support coaches, officials, and administrators of the organizations you register with;
• To secure, maintain, and improve the Service; and
• To comply with legal obligations.

3. Children's privacy

The Service is intended to be used by adults. We do not knowingly allow children to create accounts or provide information directly. A parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult provides and controls a child's information and consents to its use as described here. If you believe a child has provided us information directly without a parent or guardian, please contact us at privacy@classathlete.comand we will take appropriate steps, consistent with applicable law (including the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, COPPA).

4. How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share it only as needed to operate the Service:

• Sports organizations — the organization (and its administrators, coaches, or officials) running a program you register for receives the registration information needed to manage it.
• Service providers — vendors that help us run the Service, including hosting and database (Supabase, Vercel), payments (Stripe), and email delivery (Resend), under agreements that limit their use of the information.
• Legal and safety — when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or the public.

5. Data retention

We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of information as described below.

6. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your choices and rights

• You can review and update much of your account and participant information within the Service;
• You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information;
• You can opt out of non-essential emails; account- and registration-related messages are necessary to provide the Service.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use them to sell your information.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and communicate material changes where appropriate.
